Aistė Stancikaitė is a Lithuanian artist based in Berlin. Working across painting and works on paper, her practice explores shifting constructions of identity, desire, and interior experience through layered, psychologically charged compositions. Her work is informed by theoretical frameworks around the instability of the body and subjectivity, drawing on writers such as Judith Butler, Donna Haraway, Legacy Russell, and Paul B. Preciado.

Her figures—often fragmented or obscured—exist in states of suspension, resisting fixed categorisation and navigating tensions between visibility and concealment, sensuality and abstraction. Positioned between the real and the imagined, they function less as representations than as sites of projection, shaped by contradiction and transformation.

Through a slow, layered process, she creates luminous works that hold a tension between surface intensity and interior quiet, inviting sustained looking and shifting readings.

Her work has been presented internationally, including solo exhibitions at Dresden Kunstverein; GNYP Gallery, Berlin; and ATM Gallery, New York, as well as a two-person museum exhibition at the V. Kasiulis Museum, Vilnius. Her work has also been included in exhibitions at Neuer Aachener Kunstverein and The Hole, New York and Los Angeles.

She is also available for selected commissions and collaborations. Previous clients include Apple, Audi, Dior, Forbes, Instagram, Porsche and The New York Times.
